Patient Guide to OPIOIDS
Opioids are drugs that have been used for decades to treat pain in
patients. Opioids interfere with the pain messages from your body
to the brain and change the sensation of pain in the brain. Therefore,
they do not take the pain away, but they alter your perception of pain.
