Comparable Inotrope and Vasopressor Needs Found for LVEF CABG Patient

PALM SPRINGS, Calif.—A new study has found that perioperative inotrope and vasopressor requirements are comparable between patients with low (<16%-35%) and very low (=15%) left ventricular ejection fractions (LVEFs) undergoing isolated coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.

The investigators concluded that these two groups of patients can therefore be treated comparably.

“As a safety net hospital, we see an underrepresented group of patients who are relatively sick,
