NEW ORLEANS—A study has shown that there is an increased odds of occult hypoxemia with hypotension in the intensive care setting.
Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles’ David Geffen School of Medicine found that compared with mean arterial pressure (MAP) between 70 and 90 mm Hg, a MAP of less than 60 mm Hg was associated with a 98% increased risk for occult hypoxemia.
