Breast Cancer Recurrence Not Linked To Anesthesia Administration Mode

The type of anesthesia used in breast cancer surgery is not related to the rate of breast cancer recurrence, a retrospective study has concluded.

Surgical tumor resection is a critical component of breast cancer treatment, but the risk for disease recurrence remains a significant concern. Researchers sought to determine whether differences in anesthetic management might reduce the risk for recurrence. In a study published in Anesthesiology (2019;130[1]:31-40), the South
