After 6 Months of Age, Infection Risk From Nasal Intubation Higher Than Oral

Austin, Texas—Although nasal intubation is used more commonly than oral intubation for anesthesia in children undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass surgery, it appears to carry a higher risk for postoperative infection in children 6 months of age or older, according to a recent study.
