Orlando, Fla.—Ketamine may be associated with a reduction in vasopressor requirements because it can maintain favorable hemodynamics for mechanically ventilated patients in the ICU, according to new research.
“Many sedation medications for patients on the ventilator have life-threatening adverse effects, like lowering blood pressure, lowering heart rate and delirium,” said Channing Hui, DO, a critical care fellow affiliated with Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University,
