PALM SPRINGS, Calif.—Nonsurgical coagulopathy can be managed safely and effectively with various combinations of factor concentrates and fibrinogen concentrates—along with allogeneic blood products—in patients undergoing cardiac surgeries, new research has concluded.
The researchers believe that with appropriate monitoring, a subset of patients can benefit from the use of such concentrates, perhaps entirely avoiding the need for allogeneic blood products.
