SANDIEGO—Anesthesiologists should be prepared for potential cardiorespiratory events (CREs) when seeing pediatric patients with prior intraophthalmic artery chemotherapy (IAC) treatments for retinoblastoma, a study found.
IAC is an interventional neuroradiologic procedure that allows high doses of chemotherapy drugs to be injected directly into the ophthalmic artery via the femoral artery to minimize exposure to healthy tissue. This procedure can provide patients with a
