Obstetric Guidelines Affect Heparin and Neuraxial Anesthesia Practice

ASRA App Prompts Some Confusion:

Boston—In the obstetric population, newly released clinical guidelines will increase the use of heparin and may affect the administration of neuraxial anesthesia. The American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA) has released anticoagulation guidelines as an ASRA Coags Pain app, and the National Partnership for Maternal Safety is on the verge of releasing thromboprophylaxis guidelines.
