NEW ORLEANS—Another study has questioned the accuracy of conventional pulse oximetry (SpO2) in non-white patients in the intensive care setting.
The research found that Black race was associated with a 26% increased chance of inconsistency in the measurement of pulse oximeter oxygen saturation in the ICU, and Hispanic ethnicity was associated with a 15% increased odds of inconsistency.
