Case Report: Intraoperative Hypercapnia During Sedation

The OR is a dynamic environment, and the anesthesia care team must be vigilant to identify changes that may cause harm. This case illustrates a subtle intraoperative event with the potential to alter the course of an otherwise uneventful anesthetic.

Our patient was undergoing a routine total hip arthroplasty in the lateral position under spinal anesthesia with propofol
