There is a direct relationship between the volume of injectate used in lumbar erector spinae plane (ESP) injections and the extent of craniocaudal spread, a cadaver study has concluded.
Researchers at Duke University Medical Center found 30 mL of injectate–the greatest volume used in the trial–resulted in spread to most of the lumbar spinal levels.
