Morbidity Burden Worse for Women After CABG

The past two decades have witnessed improvements in the rates of all-cause, short-term mortality among women following coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, but women still have a markedly greater risk for significant postoperative morbidity than their male counterparts, a new study has concluded.

“Appreciation of unique presentation, patterns and underlying pathophysiology of coronary artery disease in women have driven gender-based risk stratification and risk reduction efforts
