“Anesthesiologists Have Ceded Control of the Specialty”

The following letter was received as a response to David Sherer’s commentary, “Why Are We So Misunderstood? Cultural Illiteracy and the Anesthesiologist” (2022;48[7]:3), which was the first installment in a series called Wake-up Call! (See page 32 of the October issue for the latest in the series.) Dr. Dayal pulls no punches in his response, and is especially harsh in his assessment of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
