Women and minorities may be less likely to receive treatment for stroke, according to a new study (Neurology 2016 Sept 16. [Epub ahead of print]).
The researchers looked back at more than eight years of hospital records of patients from across the country who arrived at the hospital within two hours after the start of symptoms of ischemic stroke and had no documented reasons that they could not receive tissue plasminogen activator (tPA). tPA is indicated only for ischemic strokes, which are
