A new study found you might want to wear a watch with a metal band to the hospital or office. Leather, plastic and other band materials were more likely to be contaminated with bacteria than metal bands, according to a new study (Adv Infect Dis 2023;13[2]:193-209).

Bacteria found in the study typically were common residents of the skin, Staphylococcus and Pseudomonas, and intestinal organisms like Escherichia.
